This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday) and will work from STEP's multiple locations in Southeast, Michigan (primarily Dearborn, Detroit and Westland).


The Supports Coordinator Manager is responsible for the oversight of the provision of services and supports that meet Mental Health Code requirements, regulatory standards and the individual needs of persons receiving services; continuously monitor the services and supports and ensure that they are provided at a quality level that supports the organization’s desire to meet best practice guidelines.


A crucial component of this position is to expand the capacity of the department to provide Supports Coordination services for individuals directly referred to STEP. This includes strategic planning, staff training and retention and hiring of additional staff as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise Supports Coordinators, interns, volunteers, and support staff.
  • Ensure the quality, effectiveness, and compliance of supports coordination services.
  • Oversee assessment, service planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation using Person-Centered Planning and Self-Determination principles.
  • Assign and manage caseloads and oversee intake processes for new members.
  • Review and approve Plans of Service and other required documentation.
  • Support staff recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and retention efforts.
  • Monitor compliance with Medicaid Chapter III, MDHHS, DWIHN, CARF, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Track and analyze program outcomes, waiver data, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with leadership on utilization review, continuous quality improvement, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for employment, volunteerism, and community inclusion for individuals served.
  • Maintain strong relationships with community partners and represent STEP professionally in the community.
  • Maintain a small caseload as needed.


 

Qualifications

 

           Education:      Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited college or University.


           Experience:     Three (3) years of professional experience in human service associated with mental health, developmental and other disability services / supports and a minimum of one (1) year in a management position or demonstration of equivalent work experience. Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


           Licensure:       Licensed by the State of Michigan under Public Act 299 of 1980 and must satisfy STEP’s and DWIHN credentialing and re-credentialing requirements.


                                    Current License as a:

                                    Licensed Master’s Social Worker OR

                                    Licensed Professional Counselor OR

                                    Masters Limited Psychologist

                                                          and

                                    Valid Michigan Driver’s License

                                    Approval of STEP’s Insurance Carrier

Compensation & Benefits:

STEP offers a competitive benefits package along with a salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 for this full-time position. The team member in this role will travel amongst STEP's locations.
